Day 7 - Monday, July 19, 2021

Our plans were to meet at 8:00 AM this morning to make our way back to the Arch (12-15 minute walk) and que in line for an opportunity to acquire tickets for the tram up the arch and other events.  We were disappointed when we tried to make reservations on-line to find they were sold out.  Then yesterday we learned that they offer a few same day tickets on a first come basis.  When we arrived there were only about  six groups ahead of us, but by the time the doors were opened the line was quite long.  We were fortunate to get tickets on the first tram ride up, 9:15.  The views were great today with clear weather.

Getting ready to enter the tiny tram cars which hold 5 people each.

Below are photos from the view of St. Louis and the river from the top.

The space at top is quite small.

An interesting visual is leaning on the curved floor of the arch, it appears you can defeat gravity.  Inside the Arch is the only place where masks are required.

After the Arch, we went directedly to the theater to see a 30 minute documentary on the construction of the Arch.  I have seen it before, but enjoyed it as much the second time.

We had about 90 minutes before our scheduled river boat ride and decided to walk down to Busch Stadium, only about 15 minutes.  The Cardinals are playing Chicago tonight so we decided to get tickets for the game.  It is about a 20 minute walk from the Marriott.

The river cruise was not too inspiring and I actually napped through most of it, but here is one photo.

We we walked to Busch Stadium and found our nosebleed seats.  They really aren't too bad.  As I write this, it is the middle of the 5th and the Cards are leading the Cubs 5-0.

Back to back homeruns by the home team celebration.

Tomorrow we head for Dyersville, TN, leaving at 7:00 AM... Rise and Shine!
